About the Author
When Marc Hafer joined Simpler Consulting in 2002, he brought years of leadership experience in sales, marketing, product development, strategic planning and general management with him. His skills as a teacher and visionary leader were evident from the beginning, and he quickly rose through the ranks, eventually becoming President of Simpler North America in 2007 and CEO of Simpler Holdings in 2009. Marc's experience now includes healthcare, the service industry and military assignments. As CEO of Simpler Holdings, he is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction of Simpler Consulting around the world. Marc also coaches client leadership teams and is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and volunteers in support of industry organizations.

A succinct introduction to Lean in healthcare

This is a great read for someone getting oriented to Lean management in healthcare. In 85 pages Marc provides a summary and key insights into the Lean tranformation of six hospitals and healthcare systems in three different countries, all of whom succeeded as clients of Simpler Consulting. The stories are real, sharing the challenges as well as successes.

Simple Ways To Eliminate Waste At Work!

Started reading prior to first RIE. I liked the examples of using LEAN in other healthcare environments. LEAN concepts are used in different hospital systems around the world like Denver Health, St. Joseph's, and hospitals in Europe and Singapore. It's encouraging to know they've all succeeded implementing Simpler LEAN!
